  He was a French merchant, who purchased WOODCOTE PARK. The family originating from Languedoc region.
His son was made BARON TEISSIER by Louis XVIII (1817) in acknowledgement of the loyalty shown to his family and France, during the French Revolution by the Head of the family, Jean Antoine (de Teissier) 3rd Baron of Marquerittas who was guillotined 20 May 1794.
